Experience Vienna.
My name is Marlene Possnitz and I am a Licensed Tourist Guide here in Austria, mainly focusing on customized private tours in Vienna.
(This website is new and still under construction - please bear with me.)
About me
I am a native Austrian, born in Graz and living in Vienna for over 20 years now. I have been a tourist guide here in Vienna since 2015 and I still believe it's the best job in the world. I get to meet wonderful people, tell stories about my beloved city and spend my day walking around in beautiful places - it can't get any better!
What we can experience together:
The Highlights
I will take you on a journey through time on one of my standard sightseeing tours. You'll learn about the Habsburgs and how they shaped today's city of Vienna, meet famous figures like Mozart or Sigmund Freud and hear about all the struggles and dark times Vienna and Austria had to face in the 20th century.
Jewish Heritage
Jewish Heritage has always been a large part of Vienna's history and before the so-called "Anschluss", the annexation of Austria by Adolf Hitler in 1938, almost 10% of the Viennese population was Jewish. There's a lot to tell about the dark times that followed, but there's also so much more: learn about Jewish life in the middle ages, the flourishing assimilated community in the 19th century and present-day Vienna as a home to a thriving, very active Jewish community.
Hidden Treasures
I know Vienna, I know it like the back of my hand. I've spent years exploring the hidden corners of this city and I am more than prepared to share my knowledge with you. Let me take you through small alleys, to quaint little squares and quiet corners of the city.
Arts & Architecture
Vienna truly is a city of art and amazing architecture. Whether it be art nouveau buildings, the imperial picture gallery at the Kunsthistorisches Museum or Viennese Design - I can take you to all the places where yo can learn about these things.
